So I love this knife, its perfect for work. I am getting used to the locking mechanism.

However, The lock sometimes sticks quite badly... and its annoying. Is this normal? was something missed in the finishing process? Or does it just need time to break in?

I dont see any phosphorous bronze washers, and i know my military has them... are they just hidden?

I cant seem to get the knife the knife to the tension level i am comfortable with, maybe this has something to do with the above question?

Thanks Guys

Mine took a while to break in, every once and a while it sticks a bit but most of the time it's perfect. I never intended to get one but it once I handled it I had to have it. I carry mine every weekend, give it a real chance and your really going to love it.

Not sure about the washers.

the "tang" is cut at a angle....so when the lock engages, as it slides across the tang, in doing so the lock bar wedges itself into a locking position......if you hold the lock fully to the left and look at the back of the knife you will see what i mean about the tang angle......this could be remedied, if your comfortable with taking the knife apart and probably voiding your warranty, by bending the lock bar so it doesn't engage so hard/far.....but in time it will wear in quite nicely

Keep that lock clean and lightly lubed. It'll break right in---all by itself.

Sticking is normal at first. It'll break in after you play with it enough.
There are PB washers.
Try tightening the pivot down and then slowly loosening it a miniscule amount to find your sweet spot. Then figure out where you like it and blue loctite that screw.

Mine has never stuck either. I have mine lubed with some dry graphite and it is super smooth and slick! I love this knife and I love the compression lock

I guess I'm just adding more of the same, but yes, the compression lock is great, and the sticking is very common when you first get the Para. Someone suggested that I use a pencil and draw some graphite onto the blade tang and the lock to help smooth it out. That works a little, but give the knife some pocket time and it'll be just fine. Enjoy, it's a great blade.

Cheers,
jon

got one for Christmas and yes the lock sticks - i've been carring it every day and it is starting to smooth out.

My buddy has one with see thru handles. It scratches up easier but looks cool as hell...

I just got mine in the mail yesterday and I don't see myself carrying anything else for awhile. The action seems pretty smooth and I am going to put some RemOil on it when I get home after work today. It is curious that you couldn't tell if it had the washers...mine are cleary visible on either side of the blade. Mine was made late last year...is yours an older model?

One of my favorite knives...I close mine with one hand (like everyone esle, im sure) and as long as I dont apply exsessive pressure to the blade while pushing in the compression lock everytihing is slick as snot....
