Just got my S90V CF Military. UPS was kind today. WOW, WOW, WOW. It is sooo sharp and smooth. Now my BG-42 won't be lonely anymore. I'll try to take some comparison pics this weekend, although other than the CPM S90V on the blade, they look just alike.
I got mine yesterday also. It'll be hard to leave it home today but Im not ready to get it dusty. This my first knife with a cf handle not to sure how it holds up plus its a little long for grader work as the throttle is to close to the seat on the model I'm operating.I did touch it up on the sharpmaker and it worked fine for that.
I upgraded my membership to be able to add attachments, pics, etc. Can someone give me a quick and easy lesson on how to attach a pic so that it shows in the posts like so many others I see here. I do not have an on line photo bucket or anything like that, just want to add a pic that is on my PC to the post. After that, I'll post some pics I took of my Millis today, thanks.
Sharpening, at least on DMT diamond hones, takes less time than dulling it. The part that impressed me most was only needing to use the fine and extra-fine hones to restore the edge after a couple of hours of drywall repair work. Most steels go on the extra-coarse for a new bevel after an ordeal like that. This sucker still had a usable edge!
really curious about the s90v - I have a bg42 and am thinking about pulling the trigger on a 90. I have a caly 3 in zdp189 and the thought of a military in a similar steel is almost too much to say no to. Not that the bg42 is anything to sneeze at, but.... If possible, could you guys that have the s90v give us some feedback on the performance?
