i just picked up a catapult a few weeks ago. i played with it a few times and put it back in the box. today i went to use it and noticed a piece of the plastic scale had chipped off so i wrapped it up and dropped it in the mailbox, i also requested that they tighten up the blade some if possible - doesn't leave a very good first impression in my mind.

Hello 97,
Sorry to hear about your experience with your first Buck. As it turns out, the Catapult was actually never formally introduced. It did show up in our catalog from 2007 but we soon decided to scrap the whole project. Some units did ship although it was not a very large number at all.
I have gotten 3 back through warranty, 2 because the action was "diferent" which is the main reason the project was scrapped.
The 3rd one would be yours.
Just in case you have not already sent it, send it to my attention and I will get it through the process quicker. We are in our busy season right now and have about a 4 week lead time.
Again I am sorry for the inconvenience.

I think Buck is at the top the list for customer satisfaction, give them a chance to make it right and you will soon see for yourself.I may also add that I had a expensive knife i sent in for work,it was shipped out to me and somehow got lost, they sent another one!these were $190 a pop,Buck is great!good luck!

thanks joe, its already been sent but its coming from california and should be there in 3 days. its good to know the knife was not a full production model, i like that kind of stuff.

97guns,
If you want, you can email me your name and I will have our mail department keep an eye out for your knife. They dont catch them all but the gal I would have do this has an eagle eye.

This is why I am not thrilled with customs...The knife Razorblades is referring to got stuck between customs and Kentucky. Every now and then I check the tracking number and that crazy knife has bounced back and forth between the two for months. Even though we contacted them and asked to have it shipped back. It seems to be in an eternal black hole. Makes me wonder how many other packages are in the same predicament. I also wonder how much added cost this represents every time I ship something. Someones gotta pay to have those lost packages shipped all around the globe.:eek:

I AM SURE YOU WILL BE HAPPY WITH BUCK,97GUNS,And to Joe,I sure do apprechiate everything you did for me,the custom work on 110 with MASSIVE sambar stag handles is just unbelievable when feild dressing/skinning game...sorry for the hi-jack,nice avatar buck Joe!

hey joe its been right around 3 weeks since i sent it off, just wondering if one of your repair techs may have seen it yet. you mentioned it would stick out like a sore thumb. im currently eyeballing my second buck, a strider

Joe, you just have to tell us ALL about the Buck in your avatar! pertty please!

What, that old thing?
I call them therapy knives. If you see a d-guard 118, or even a 102, that means I finally threw my hands up in despair and headed out into the shop for some "me" time. :D
Its funny you should ask just now. I have a new one sitting here on the desk still warm from the buffing wheel...it was a hard week.:eek::D

Don't give up 97guns...
Typically, ya never get a second chance for a first impression. But, ya know, I had to send my first two wives back and now I got a keeper. ;)
