:grumpy: fishing thru the ads on the trade forums and i saw a lefty sebenza for sale. the knife was used ,the price was good but not fantastic so i emailed the seller and we did the transaction via paypal... the knife was comming from denmark so i figgured it might be a while... i was told it shipped on april 7th and should be two weeks.... after three weeks i sent emails with no reply. the forth week i mailed paypal and they told me i was 7 hours too late.. complaints must be filed no later than 30days past the transaction date(to the hour)... needless to say subsiquent emails have gone unansered...i had come across the sellers name on the forums many times so i thought things would be cool.....his handle was plomion or somesuch and his email address is .......oliver and rikke..... marquis@mail1stofanet.dk.. so lets be careful out there folks

Pay-Pal should still be able to help you out with this matter. They SHOULD!!!!
I hope it ends well with you. I hate dealing with A**H  LE sellers who screw you over.
Good luck & again, I hope it is just a fluke with that seller & that the knife does arrive soon. Maybe his computer went down??? Who knows, but good luck.

anvilarms,
did he have a high posting count?
Had he ever traded before?
It's very important, when dealing with a high dollar item to look at those things.
I hope everything works out for you.
Don't get mad yet, try posting his name in the general forum,
very short message saying you want to talk to him,
and definatly in the Good, Bad, and Ugly.

Requested a super to move this. Don't post this again in GB&U.

I hope you get satisfaction, but, forget about paypal. Despite thier claims, they always have a reason why they can't help you. They are just a money transfer service, not a bank, and have no legal powers. It is almost impossible to talk with somebody from paypal. The small print on the paypal service aggrement would fill volumes. Oh, for what it's worth, they are located in India.
Good luck anyway.

oliverplomion was heading back to Iraq,

Actually it was a country more hostile ... France.

Seriously, IIRC Oliver really was moving, so don't assume the worst yet.

Ken,

Why wouldn't we want this in GB&U?

Cause after this post is moved, then there would be a duplicate post.

and not for nothing, if he's doing stuff, he should not be cutting deals, or he should have delegated the responsibility.

Definitely in need of more coffee. I read it and thought this had been moved from GB&U to General. :D

Oliver is not in Iraq. He is just using that line to get a whole bunch of knives without paying for them.

Even if he were, what justification is that to screw several people?

None in my book....................

In defense, Oli doesnt have those knives, all of them are confirmed sitting in Danish customs. They're coming out one at a time, very slow process and some might not get out for a while. Dont assume the worst untill your hear all the facts wolfmann, you dont have all the info on whats going on here evidently. A friend and I have been working the past few weeks to get those knives released, Denmark is not the knife friendliest nation and therefore it has been a touch and go process. The knives were mailed out all at once and every package has been siezed. Why they were picked up going out I dont know, but leagal or not the knives were taken and are in holding.

Oli still does not have access to e-mail or the internet, evidently the part he now lives in doesnt have a ready made hook up, its in the mountains and very isolated.

I have been mediating with a few of the people that have been left in the dark on this, one has his knife on the way now, and hopefully another will be hearing good news soon, and a third was taken care of as well. If anyone that is involved in this has any questions about their knives please e-mail me at armoralleather@armoralleather.com I will get in touch with my contact and get the ball rolling. We will get this thing resolved eventually for everyone. Anvilarms, please e-mail me and I'll see what I can do for you, or I'll mail you when I get the chance.

in oli's defense we had a quick, smooth transaction. i hope (i'm sure) this will be straightened out.

Hi Leatherman,
I have sent you an email. I too am waiting for a knife from Oliver Plomion. The specific information is in the email. I would GREATLY appreciate any assistance you can provide.

BTW, I have previosuly had a successful trade with Oli and found him to be a stand up guy. I sure am curious as to what is going with Danish Customs (if that is where my knife is). The first time we traded I received my knife in 8 days....

Regards, Brian

Maybe Oli needs to be refunding some money. So Leatherman I can presume you have verified all these knives are in the possession of the Customs folks in Denmark?

And of course it's "OK" for folks to wait however long it takes because it's not Oli's fault  [insert a very huge pair of eyes *>**<*here]

Your right Ira, my idea was to try to get these people their knives back, not for defending a fellow that has been absent for five weeks. But your right, its a lost cause, customs isnt going to let go of those knives. I have also recieved a note from my contact that he is pulling out as well, another wise choice. All that work and headaches are for nothing, I have no contact, no way of helping. Guess I am seeing the true face of people now. Thanks for the wake up call Ira, I needed to open my eyes and realize its just not going to work
