I received an e-mail today from a Gentleman - and he has gifted me something...

Lets go back a few days..
It started when we started chatting-then the friendship thing-as it does in Traditionals, well, he said in a recent e-mail that he didnt have a GEC-and I knew then almost immediately that he should have my top 5 favourite knife, the Forums 2010 GEC easy opener....what a beautiful knife!...honestly.... anyway...it flooded back a memory as to when Charlie saw me mention one day that I hadnt a GEC knife yet ( shocking when you look back isnt it lol ), in the following next few weeks a Beautiful Stag serpentine Jack arrived....I can still recall it hitting me so hard that I admit having a few tears well up in the old eyes..

(and the tears in the eyes thing has occurred in these last few days I must be honest, I am overwhelmed right now )

Anyway!.... it just seemed right that my friend had to have this knife-I didnt want to say goodbye to it-but something rang true-there were other knives that needed attention...so its on it way to him at this very moment - safely I hope.
Well after it left me all this wonderful gifting has happened, an its been HUGE to me...
This fantastic person has bought me a Gold Membership...I mean...what do you do here everyone?...what a lovely kind thing to do...
I hope so sincerely that you enjoy and grow to love that Easy Opener like I have my friend..I really do.
I only hope that I can repay the massive kindness shown to me, its sure going to take some time!

This thread hit a chord with me, having been the recipient on several occasions of some unexpected generosity, I found myself bewildered and surprised , and at a loss for words. Thanks just doesn't seem enough at those times. Thanks for sharing this thread with us Duncan. I think you exemplify a worthy response to such things ,especially by gifting something very dear. These acts, in my mind, are the best thanx, just pay it foreword, a phrase that I truly came to understand through visiting THIS very special little corner of the universe.
