I finally got some shop time in this weekend. I made up about thirty pieces for the Harrisonburg show. These are three that I like.
The set on top is handled with rams horn. The knife is CPM-154 and the fork is stainless.
The bottom knife is CPM-154 and is handled in the old ivory Micarta.

Very nice knives but not as nice as the awesome knife you donated to the ABS auction in Reno this year. It had a rare Narwhale ivory handle. I believe it brought over $700. What a great donation!

Lookin great :)

Is there some sort of switch on the rear of the fork, or am I crazy? (Or is it to prop it up for the photo?

Mike

Switch ?? No, it's a 'kick stand' .Not clear in the photo but carving forks often have a stand with two legs so a fork can be put on the table without the fork soiling the tablecloth. That's how we do it in civilized society.Small ceramic knife and fork rests [and chopsticks in the orient] are also used for the same purpose.

Haha, guess us rednecks just stick with those little dishes (don't know the proper name  ) you set the serving fork/knife/spoon on. :)

very classy and classic looking utensils

Why I hate Wikipedia !!! I looked up 'carving fork' on Wikipedia and they called the 'kick stand ' [a term any redneck would understand] and they called it a folding guard !!! [ BTW recently the LA Times referenced Wikipedia as a credible source !!] The folding stand is typically a 'Y' shaped piece and when unfolded the legs of the Y rest on the table . If you really need a photo I could photo mine but that will take some time as my computer is not functioning well .

It is a folding guard. This one has one prong. The ones with two prongs double as table stands. The folding guard is to keep a big roast or bird from sliding down the fork when lifting from the boiling pot, or to keep the fork from going in too far.
