Just like dad's.

Read this story the other day and I dont usually post but just had to let you know, my grandfather recently passed and this made me call my dad to see if I could obtain his pocket knife, I also had to order my first yellow slip joint a case penknife

Very nice story
Guess my next buy will be a yellow handled Peanut in CV after all ;)
Or maybe even a Trapper :)
Your stories are going to cost me money I'm afraid :p

Its been a spell since I caught one of your fine tails. I reckon I've been missing them. Thoroughly enjoyed this one to be sure as this one could have been me long ago with my Uncle Lou as my hunting partner, teacher and coach.

Much obliged, Carl. :)

I remember worrying you had stopped writing these just a couple days ago. :(

Got off from duty last night, and lo and behold another masterpiece waiting for me. You made my night.:)

I just spent the last week reading all of the stories in the collection. Got "dust in my eyes" several times, thinkin' about grandpa, and Uncle Lester, men who showed us how to be a man, which is just as much about going to work every day to support your family as it is fighting like a madman if your family is ever threatened. JK, you are from a different age, and, I think, a better one. I wish your stories were required reading at all schools. We would be raising a generation of ladies and gentlemen, instead of the current crop of drug dealers and hooligans. Rest assured, my three sons will be learning many of these lessons, from me, and from you.

Thank you.

This story made me remember the wonder of being a kid learning the good stuff. Thanks jackknife - Case thanks you too, I just ordered a full size yaller handled trapper:)

Thanks Jackknife, another keeper! I never knew the trick of using a match, I'm going to file that one away.

What are the lights? I haven't heard that term before.

Thanks jackknife. That really warmed my heart. I've had one really tough week and that story sure started my weekend off perfectly.

Thanks for posting such great stuff. Love reading all your stuff!

The lungs. They are so called because, compared to dense muscle organs such as the heart or liver, the lungs weigh but little for their size.
