Sapele Mahogany is a warm, mid-tone wood that has a beautiful chatoyancy and figuring, making for a piece of wood that throws light and makes each piece unique. The Sapele Wood used in the 2023 inlay is said to be from a tree cut down in the Republic of Congo in 1981, when it was approximately 125 years old.
