Just Lost a Good Dog

T-BAG - I know exactly what you mean. I've often grieved more for dogs that I have lost than for many people I have known. I guess you can't have the great joy from a good dog without expecting great sorrow when he is gone.

There's the karma of it...you can't have one without the other.

I'm really sorry to hear of your loss Lloyd. I don't know what I would do if I lost my best friend.

The damned lions are spreading everywhere. The idiots out here in the PRK not only banned hunting them, but are spending 1.8 Billion dollars from 1989 forward to expand their population.

(As the joggers get eaten one by one the animal activists insist it is just natures way.)

There are conservatively 100 times more whitetail deer in the CONUS right now than there were in 1900, so the lions have plenty to eat, and their population is really growing.

I hope your new dogs paired up will keep them at bay.

Norm

Thanks Norm. They do seem to be rapidly expanding their territories. Came home with the new pups today. It's a lot farther to the east shore of Mobile Bay than I had thought. A beautiful trip though.
Here are our new pups with their dad down in Alabama yesterday:

and here they are breaking in our Newfoundland this afternoon - a lot of energy for 7 1/2 weeks.

nice pics lloyd. The dogs look happy and perky. I didn't know you had white sand in Iowa.:D

Sorry for your loss, ive grieved more fore some dogs than many people in my life.

Anatolians & karabash rule, only known 3 they wernt friendly pets, but they wernt mean, they were just serious & knew what they were doing.

Would make good Sargeants at arms when needed, just like our Nasty I guess.;)

They are going to look like an *awesome* pack when they grow up!

Congrats!

Here is an update on the new puppies. They are now within 3 inches and 50 pounds of full grown (currently 135# and 32") and I have to say they are the best dogs we've ever had. Great watch dogs yet they really love people after they know they are supposed to be here. Here are some pictures of the last couple days with their first snow, and their natural instinct to guard whatever is in the yard. Thanks everyone for helping us decide on this breed and for helping us through our loss.

Sorry about your loss. I have two dogs and would be just as bummed out as you are if I lost either one of them.
RIP Jackson

As a rule, dogs are great...except mine, coincidentally, she's a weaselbeast (I kid, she's great to but she's still a weaselbeast). Sorry to hear, albeit belatedly, about your loss, but those two pups look to be right at home. I hope everyone there is doing well.

I am so sorry to hear the sad news, Prayers for his peaceful journey
