The best I can say is that its damascus .. the pattern tho , I dont know .

Man I love those French folders. Nice looking knife!

is that wood pine or cedar? either way that is some nice wood...that would burn really well.

that knife looks a little like a friction folder...i think i see a hump on the back of the bolster in line with the top of the blade. or maybe that's just a trick of the light.

I think thats a bee. I was hoping he'd respond to my French knife suggestion and confirm whether thats a Laguiole.

Its a knife I actually bought out of Pakistan , from a maker for the French market .

The wood is just pine from a packing crate I was shaving some off to light the fire when I thought Id be silly with it and take a pic :) it does indeed light up easy .

I bought a bunch of different knives in from a small maker , I got them as gifts mostly , a couple were ebayed to cover the costs .

I was genuinely impressed when I got them tho , they are genuinely handmade , and are seriously nice knives , they are liner lock , have serious sized slabs of bone on the handle , and hold a screaming edge , and the $$ are so cheap , its hard not to buy them :)

I LOVE the look on a mates face when I give them a knife , but when they got a walnut / olive wood / bone handled knife with a damascus blade that is shaving sharp ... the look is that much more so :)

hey , Im on a budget here ... :) I have to work it that my knife habit is self supporting
