I've been wanting to get a puukko style knife for a while now, and finally pulled the trigger and ordered a Kellam Wolverine (and also got a Mora companion for a beater). So while I am waiting with anticipation for the delivery, please fill me in on what to expect from this knife/company. I've read only good reviews so far.
I plan to use it as a secondary field knife (camping, fishing, hiking, etc...)

Cheers!

Can't offer anything on the kellum. But the mora companion very well may end up more than just a beater. Its a great utility knife and I was suprised how much I love mine. I never expected to get as much use out of it as I have. And it's one my most used fixed blades.

It is basically the same as an Ahti puukko of the same style (but Ahti costs less). I was told that Ahti makes the Kellam puukko, but can't confirm that. I have three Ahti that I got from Ragweed Forge. All are excellent, well made using Lauri high carbon blades. They take a razor edge when properly sharpened and hold it. I recommend Ahti (made by Reino Kamppila), I like the Metsa and Juhla models best.

You'll get a really durable and nice-looking knife. It won't be as finely finished as a Karesuando or Helle or high-end Marttiini, but you've gone a step up from the wood-handled Mora and Condor knives.
