Can't wait for it to get here! I was going to get a ZT 0566, or the 0801, but decided to wait for the finances to allow it with a little more wiggle room :) So I got the Thermite. I'll post pics when it gets here!

Not a bad choice while waiting on the other two. I too am waiting on the 0566 but in my wait I picked up a second 0550 so it may have been put on the back burner for a bit. Enjoy the thermite.

I've been playing with a thermite for a few days now and its a pretty decent knife, handle seems a little long but I'm fairly pleased with it for a $35-40 price tag. And yes the 566 is the one I've been waiting for as well

Stay away!
I just picked up a Thermite the other day and although I love the knife, I can't get the pocket clip screws out of the damn thing (I prefer tip up carry). After a bit of research, I found out that this is pretty common with the Thermite and the new Cryo II, which I also purchased. I'm having the same issues with the Cryo II as well. Apparently, at least from the research I've done is that they used the permanent "black" loctite on these at the factory in China where they were assembled. I've ruined two T6 Torx bits in the process and don't want to mess with either knife much more for fear of stripping the screws...I contacted Kershaw and they want me to send the knives in, but I'm really not feeling like it (4-6 weeks turnaround time). I've stayed away from Kershaw for a long time and I kind of wish I still had. I was going to post this issue in a new thread, but this seems like as good as place as any. I'm curious if others have had the same issue. I think I'm going to return both knives and spend that money on something else.

I have heard some success stories using a soldering iron to heat the screws to loosen the loctite. Might give that a try.

I guess I might give that a try. I heard that as well, but I'm bothered by the fact that I'd have to go to that length to get the screws out...first world problems, I know.

I pre-ordered one from Knifecenter 2 months ago...still waiting...

I am lucky I guess...I prefer tip-down as I got used to it with my Blur.

Im liking this knife.....

im also amazed the cryo 2 still really isnt our yet unless pre ordered or sheer luck. Has to be a record for release date drag our.......

guess it will be worth it.;)

Easy fix for locktited screws:

Microwave a coffee mug full of water for 2 min.

Dip the knife in the hot water, screw end first of course.

Let it sit a minute, then carefully take it out of the hot water and unscrew.

Use a high quality torx driver so stripping is less likely.

Tip down, the low ride clip actually is low ride... so that's a sort of bonus.

I will probably try swapping mine around at some point, but carrying tip down hasn't been an issue yet.

I personally am not to worried. If my preordered themite shows up with those Super locktite screws. I have come across this before but on a larger scale, car/truck bolts. Just the right amount of gentile heat is all it takes.
Jeffsenpai mention using a very cup of water. Great idea. A zippo lighter would sure help. Or a Micro torch.

I haven't had issues with the screws on either the thermite or cryo 2. Good tools are the key though, poor quality tools can lead to issues. Like previously mentioned with any locktite if they are tight use a little heat and it breaks apart with ease a torch works great. I have had some tight screws on my knives but haven't had the issues that some of you guys have, so haven't had to use anything other than a driver on them

@jeffsenpai - Can you suggest a brand of high quality Torx drivers?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I will certainly try some of these.

@northend816 - Where are you located? They have them in my area...I was just back at the store today and they still had a quite a few.

A look at the Spanto tip.

Kershaw, just down the road a bit from me, flipped the clip without issue in a couple of minutes for me to tip up carry as I'm a righty. This one from Blade HQ. Love it. My new EDC and it pushed the 561 out of my pocket it is that good.

Ordered another Thermite this morning and it shipped today.
