Just ordered a manix 2 LX

The XL arrived on Monday, spent a few days getting acquainted. Like every Spyderco I've bought so far it arrived very sharp with no defects. The BBL lock mechanism took awhile to get used to but I can close it one handed now.

Comparable in size to the ZT 0560, another favorite. The XL is a smidge larger all around, handle and blade, the difference is slight.

I have large hands and the big handle on the XL is close to a perfect fit, comfortable in my hand with not much handle left over.

Yeah...the only other knife i own that feels better is my zt 200.

That's interesting since the Manix 2 XL is high on my wish list. I do have a ZT 0561 and in addition I have a 4" CRKT M21 and a 4" Benchmade 760. My impression of the Manix XL is that it is big but very functional. I'm interested in trying it out.

catchthecarp: Thanks for the comparison pics, I've been looking into the Manix series and have a 0560 so I can easily visualize it now. Not sure how I feel about the clip being position lower down on the handle but I prefer FFG blades so I'm in a quandary on which model I like more.

It's what the benchmade 741 onslaught wants to be when it grows up.

Looks like a great knife. It's probably 5th on my list to buy after some sprints. I think it'll be like a slightly heavier duty Millie in function/use.
