Just ordered a Ontario Rat 2 and a Benchmade Mini Griptilian, what next?

How about a fixed blade? RAT/ESEE 3 or 4...... BK 15/16. Great "everything" use knives!

The Griptilian, the big brother of the mini grip is out there. The 3.25" blade can be illusive though as I think a lot of the makers try to keep it under 3" for legal carry reasons. If there was a 3.25" Sebenza I would jump on it.

PS the Blur feels like the intermediary size to me btw. At least in my mind. Outside of the Sebenza it's replaced the Delica as my favorite one hander. I kept one for about a year and I would reach for it over any knife that I had because it was a wider knife that fit well in hand yet had these flat scales that makes it feel smaller in your pocket than what it really is.

OK, got a question or two for you all. I am really liking this mini Griptilian, perfect world it would be just slightly larger, but not a deal breaker.

I really like the axis lock, and it is as smooth as butter on an hot day.

My questions are: what knives are out there that are slightly larger and are as smooth as butter on a really, really hot day (axis lock would be nice too!)?

Spydercos will grow on you over time, with use. The Delica's locking mechanism isn't meant to fly open, like your mini grip. The more you use your knives, the more things you cut, the more you will appreciate a thin blade. I have too many high dollar knives. But, my G-10 Delica still finds its way into my pocket all the time. Also, you may want to check out the Caly III. Welcome to the forums. Sorry for your wallet.

Check out the Spyderco Stretch for EDC . VG-10 version still available for $76 or so. My personal favorite for EDC. Fabulous ergonomics , size and blade length.

First, Welcome aboard! Umm...regarding your question....umm...hello....the Griptilian ?? LOL

I'd like to also suggest the Delica and the Strech. I love the way my delica cuts, and with a little tlc it really flies open just like my mini grip. As for closing it one handed, it takes some practice but it's not hard at all.

I gotta vouch for the Blur as well... I bought one just to "try it out" and now have 10 in total incl. 3 of the ELMAX models for when they're no longer available, and am planning on buying a few more in the near future, then probably even some duplicates to the ones that are in the most regular rotation, just in case they would (God forbid) get lost, or damaged...

Also, I gotta vouch for all good EDC collections has to have at least one good swiss army knife (SAK) included. Just to do all the things a knife alone can't do... My favorite is the Huntsman.

Other multitools like a leatherman will do too, it's just that for a knife collection, the SAK is a "knife" that includes other tools, whereas the others are all typically more of a "tool" that also includes a blade...
