Just ordered a Spyderco Manix 2 Carpenter CTS-BD30P :D
Can't wait till it gets delivered. I think I have to wait 2 weeks because Dutch customs are pretty lazy :jerkit:

Do you have one? Please share your opinion!
It's a sprint run but don't know how many are made....

Great Choice! I picked one of these up too.

It is either 600 or 1,200 being made — there was talk recently of Spyderco doubling the sprint runs to help meet the
demand. I am uncertain when extactly that was supposed to go into effect though.

This is my first Manix2 and it is great. The handle ergonomics and full-flat grind work really well.

600 made on this one and most others. Do you have a link to the 1200 production numbers or is it speculation?

i'm sure youll love it man i have a regular manix 2 with 154cm and i edc it everyday! even though its large and heavy it doesnt bother me one bit i bet with the milled liners youll end up edc'ing yours too and making all your other blades green with envy :D the g10 is very very knice and it feels like a tank i got to handle a couple of knives at a local store and i just couldnt believe how lucky i got with the manix 2 i handled a tenacious which although a great great buy just didnt feel like the monster the manix 2 is and a bm barrage that felt clumsy compared to it too. the only knife i felt could compare that i got to handle was a g10 delica 4 ffg (hmmm another spyderco... coincidence?)

I bought one a little while ago to replace the plain-jane M2 I lost. Somehow the rough G10 and fancy steel makes me want to wail on it right proper.

I've had mine for about 3-4 weeks, great knife IMO. The coarse G10 is excellent and so far, I prefer BD30P over S30V.

Wow prefer CTS-BD30P over S30V? I'm very curious how the will perform.
I have A Military in S30V and I love it. It holds a edge very well and it can be made hare shaving sharp!
The package is send yesterday sow It will be 2 weeks of anxious waiting:grumpy:

Have you noticed an improvement in 30p over s30v? I've been wanting to ask this because I want the 30p but if it's not diff.by very much at all than I'll just save up for something else! I know Sal says the s30v and the 30p are pretty much the same, but if you look at the elements chart there is .20 tungsten and .90 cobalt (in the 30p)in other steels this seems to be a fairly significant factor, thanks ahead of time jimnolimit.

S30V tends to lose it's razor edge pretty quick, but it holds it's working edge for a pretty long time. so far for me (after cutting cardboard), BD30P held on to it's razor edge longer. i haven't did any head to head test, but that is my impression from using both.

Ok, thats interesting! I will make a review about it as soon as I get it!
The Milly S30V vs the Manix 2 CTS-BD30P :D

i haven't been able to find the exact make up of BD30P . also, i believe carpenter is using a smaller particle size in their powder metallurgy process which should make BD30P have a finer grain structure.

im basing my initial thoughts of BD30P manix2 against my use of S30V para2. both have different blade geometries so it will hard to do an exact test. my use of S30V, either in my vantage pro or para2 has always been that it lost it's razor edge quick but held a good working edge. when i used my BD30P manix2 the other week to cut up cardboard, i noticed that it better held on to it's razor edge. i can't say that one will perform overall better than the other because i haven't did a head to head endurance test.

p.s. so far i find BD30P to sharpen up a little easier than S30V, but the knife is still fairly new and i haven't had a chance to use and sharpen it many times yet like i have with S30V.
