Just Ordered an Izula II.

I just ordered an Izula 2 from EM Gear. I am hopeful that this new Izula 2 will be a knife I can live with. I hate my Becker Necker. Sold my Swamp Rat Swamp Warden. I cancelled my order for a new necker from Scrap yard. The closest thing I have found to a mini-fixed blade that I actually like is the HEST. The reason is simple. I like handles on my tools. My hands just aren't as tough as they used to be. The larger handle and micarta slabs should do the trick. This knife should carry discreetly and actually be useful. At least that's my hope. I'll take it out and use it when I get it and post a short review here on ESEE forum.

Do you think the Swamp Warden would have worked for you if it had full handle scales? If so, you'll probably love the Izula2. I like my Swamp Warden more than the Izula but the Izula neck carries better so it's my EDC.

They will all work for me, but why put up with all that discomfort when a good folder works better? The Izula II caught my eye as as a necker for folks like me who usually don't like neckers! In knives or guns, I am likely to grab the ones that feel and carry right for me and leave the others at home.

Horndog,

I think you'll love the Izy II, the scales on it are substantial and they honestly feel just GREAT! (yeah, they're kinda like frosted flakes.)

God bless,
Adam

I posted a similar thread in the WSS section. I want a small fixed blade with a full grip as well. Thinking of picking up the Forum Izzy II if it's a realistic time frame. Looking to get one in the near future.

That's encouraging, Adam. I am looking forward to becoming a practicing member of the Izula Knife Cult.

why wait they're pretty cheap :D

I have huge hands, and I love the Izula 2. It is much more comfortable.

I still carry my original Izula just because its my trusty pal...but the Izula 2 fits these hands much better...

(No pics of with the Izula 2 in hand...I'll get one later on and edit it in)

the sheath stayed the same on the Izula's only Dif was the additional 1/2" handle area . The Canvas micarta scales are fantastic.

Damn, I thought you were a CHARTER member!

A charter member of the old training and adventure forum cult, maybe. Heck, I was using your knives before I ever heard of the more expensive brands. I got all my gear from Brigade Quartermaster Cult Supply Store or a CS catalog.
Then this internet thing started and I'm out of control with all the cults I'm in.

It's a great handle and isn't even a necker in my mind- it's just a regular old great knife! I am finding it harder to carry though. That extra 1/2" makes a difference in my jeans and it is too big for my cargo shorts.

I might be back to izula I for summer carry...sold mine for the II though- doh!

It's all about priorities. I buy my clothes to fit my tools and weapons. I wear Cabellas hiking shorts or pants most all the time. I can fit a 1911 .45 in the pocket. If it weren't so darned heavy, that would be my pocket pistol. These pants even have a handy knife/magazine pouch on them that will hold a 4" blade folder.
