Also, I'm pretty sure the ramps weren't designed by Ethan but rather someone at Camillus heh.
 
Ethan said the original design was rampless....and the rage at the time was Ramps..so he figured it didnt HURT the design so he let them add the ramp. He's ambiguous about them.

Yeah, he did say he added the ramp at the suggestion of someone else. I believe it was for military considerations. I do believe it was Ethan's design though.
 
I will admit I like the look of the ramp on the 10s...it ''works'' with the blade length...great lines.
 
I can semi-tolerate the ramp on the 10. It requires constant and continual teeth gritting, but it can be done. Ramps are dangerous in general. Evil Kenevil would be a good case in point.
 
What does he ramp do for those of you that like it?

Do you miss it after you ground it off?

Does it hurt anything being on there?

3. Not really, kind of like a huge leach on your forehead. You can work around it.
 
I sometimes kinda miss the pommel on my 9, It kinda makes the becker a becker IMO...but I dont miss the ramp. I can live with a ramp, but I like it without it a lil better.
Mainly I miss the 9's pommel cuz I think it wld look cool filed like I did on my 2.
 
Oh don't even get me started on removing the pommel. Might as well grind off the edge.
