Just ordered my first Bob Dozier knife.

We always oil the blade on our A2 knives, wrap them in saran wrap and store them out of the sheath. This keeps the blade from developing rust. Bob recomends "WD-40 Heavy" I have not found any locally but I am sure someone here knows where to get it. They may have another oil they could suggest.

I love the knife you are getting. I envy you in a good way. I wish I could fork that, Dozier knives are the very best.

Honestly, I wouldn't have paid that much for a knife like that, when you can get something as good from similar companies, BUT they weren't made by Bob Dozier. Then again, I'm certain I have knives that you wouldn't have paid as much as I did to obtain. I see that knife as more of a collector's piece, but I know it will serve you well as a user or SD knife.
Congrats on a knife well made!
You did just fine.
