Just ordered my first CRK

Ok.... removed the lanyard, melted a tiny piece of paracord so i could keep the pin. Put it together the first time and it was rubbing on the lock side. MINI FREAKOUT. Calmed down and reread the directions and assembled it again, dead center. So smooth too. Man that's crazy though, just tighten all screws all the way and it's that smooth. Awesome!

There ya go, dive off in the deep end and the more you do it the better you get to know your CRK
That's what makes the 21 the work of art it is. :)

Thanks brother! The collection is getting there. I was going to try and get a Strider SMF next, but every time I search for it the horror stories of lock troubles and customer service come up! I think next might be the Sebenza 25, but everyone here keeps talking about the Zaan. All I know is the Striders scare me now lol. Also with the lanyard, is this an easy break down? I don't want to mess this baby up she's pretty sweet. When you put it back together does it center up easy?

I used to sharpen knives as a side business here on BF. This venture afforded me the opportunity to handle quite a few striders. I can share my experiences if you like? Every one of them impressed me with its solid feel and surprisingly decent ergonomics (DGG was uncomfortable), and none seemed to have any lock issues. I'd also report that none impressed me from a 'value' standpoint the way a lot of the other names in this thread do.

Just my 2 cents...and I'm sure you have read many more;)

Nice piece, you'll enjoy it. Can't believe you didn't get any congrats from the Hinderer dudes on your CRK in your XM-24 thread...shocker. I wouldn't worry too much about the Striders. Don't think I could pay full retail for one, but they're solid knives with nice ergonomics.

Welcome to the CRK forum. Fortunately we won't have anyone locking this thread because another manufacturer was mentioned.
