I have recently developed an interest in both GEC and ebony, and jacks are one of my two favorite patterns. When I saw the GEC Tidioute #15 Boy's Jack, two-bladed version in ebony, I knew it was right. I can't wait!

Nice choice! That's a nice looking knife. I too am very fond of ebony, there's just something about it...

An excellent first choice, but . . . .

NOW YOU ARE DOOMED !! . . . . I betcha can't buy just one!

Yeah, I'm already looking at Conductors...

You know, I've gone back and forth in my head over the past year and a half or so about, well, a lot of things in my life, and I only recently have begun to be at peace to allow myself to enjoy things without guilt or spazzing out. I'm going to just savor this one; in my mind, it's a "take it slow" kind of knife. I'm going to do just that.

I love my ebony #15. It has been the only knife that has dislodged my #53 from my pocket.

You will really enjoy that knife. Fine choice.

The #15 is an excellent platform! I went with the Rust Red jigged bone...

The pen blade kind of obstructs the long pull of the master blade (you really gotta dig your nail in between the two blades) but otherwise, this pattern is one of my favourites so far...

I have, er, more than one GEC, and think you've made an excellent choice, first or last or somewhere in-between.

Good size, lack of pretension yet with the understated elegance of ebony and silver (and without a Billboard blade etch), strong and useful blades.

I, too, found that there was a slight learning curve opening the main blade, but quickly adapted and can now open it easily, with either hand (funny and frustrating, at first I couldn't get to it at the proper angle with the fingers/nails of my left hand, even though that's the hand I usually use to open blades!).

Congratulations. :-)

I once thought that Case was the end all for traditional blades. Boy did my eyes open once I bought my first GEC. A handful later$$$$$$ Good luck and enjoy that boys knife.

What a great combination, GEC and ebony, you WILL be most impressed with GEC's quality and that style of knife-just a great package coming your way by the looks - well done!

That's kind of where I am; most of what I have is Case right now. However, while I'm generally pleased, the last 4 I got in the mail had to be exchanged due to wobbly blades or severely mismatched in color and texture scales. So, I'm really looking forward to the next level, so to speak.

I think I'm beginning to be drawn more to ebony. Wouldn't mind finding some vintage ebony pieces, as well.

Sounds like a great plan. I think you are really going to love this knife. Haven't seen one in person but actually got one ordered for me as a late gift from my brother (a single blade version). I look forward to reading your impressions

I think this is my signature pattern. I got one of the Barlows and I absolutely love the size, blades, action, and craftsmanship. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the handle materials.

It's a pocket knife worth growing a tough thumbnail for.

They seem to have struck a cord with the #15 Boy's knife. I feel like the name itself sells the knife to a certain extent. I for one like the size and would opt for the single blade most likely. Seems like a really nice size (3.5 inches closed), and straightforward pattern as far as I'm concerned. Would make for a grand EDC knife for my use.

I'm a big fan of not overdoing a concept. This pattern, especially in ebony, is just so simple and clean-lined. Plus, it seems to be one of the few from GEC without blade etching.

Welcome to the Darkside!, bwahahahahaha!....
