Just ordered my FIRST!!!

Congrats! A TGLB was my first Busse as well. And also congrats on ordering a Dave Brown sheath. I'm sure you will love both the knife and the new "pants" for it. And as others have said, it won't be your last Busse, I'm sure.

I have kydex by a number of the well known makers who appear here (Dave Brown,Okuden, Al Welke, Mashed Cat, Steelnut) and am happy with all these. I have more from Dave B than any other and another on the way now, you will be fine with that choice.

Congrats OP!! Remember you can only truly appreciate INFI for what it is from use. This is where it really shines!!

TIE Tactical makes some nice custom sheaths. Think there are some posts on BF with some of his work. He has a locking mechanism built into it that is nice. I had him make a couple, one for a ZT0100 (came with a crappy nylon one I hated) and one for a hawk (wanted a top loader vs a bottom loader that RMJ uses). Takes a couple weeks and it is hard to be away from your toys for so long

Great recommendation!!
I'd love to see pics of the top loader sheath for the hawk.

Thanks, all! It took a lot of research and waiting to finally pull the trigger. If I had to guess about how long it's been since I started thirsting for a Busse I'd say it's been since about 2004-2005 while I was in high school and just starting to get more seriously into blades. I always had a fascination with knives and swords but wasn't really able to get my hands on them until I was a teenager. I played Metal Gear Solid 3 back then and there was a character you could call that would brief you on the weapons used in the game. There was a dialogue about Snake's survival knife that went into what made a tough, reliable knife. It sparked my curiosity and I started looking up knives online in search of the toughest blades on the planet and found out about Busse Combat. That got the company name stuck in my brain early on. Busse, Strider, and Emerson all spoke to me from back then but they were all out of reach. The Strider and Emerson bugs were taken care of over the last few years (easier to justify as I use folders much more frequently than fixed blades) so once I get my Busse I'll have acquired offerings from all of the brands that I dreamed about when I was younger and just getting into this hobby. Nerdy beginnings, sure, but we all start somewhere. In a sense, Busse knives can thank the Metal Gear Solid franchise for getting my business - And the knives didn't even really appear in the games. :)

Now you're in my boat...checking back on the order page every two hours waiting for Awaiting fulfillment to change to Shipped. And then when it's been sent, checking the USPS tracking number every 15 minutes...

...not that I'm impatient when it comes to ordering a new Busse or anything...

Dude, I'm the same...why do you think I picked my nickname!

Kurt Russel? :P Supposedly he was part of the inspiration behind Solid Snake/Big Boss.

I should have made an account rather than check out as a guest because I can't log in to check my order status! I assume I'll get an emailed shipping notification, though.

Ooh, as it turns out there was an account made for me by default for my order. I just had to set up a password. Nice touch, Busse!

Just got charged for the order itself! Now to wait for it to ship.

Wow! That is super fast if you just ordered it on the 16th! Took mine several weeks before it was charged to my credit card, then about a dozen days before it actually shipped! You shoudl have yours in hand in a couple of weeks.

Hopefully. Haven't gotten a shipping notification quite yet! I'm still quite excited for it. I hate waiting. :P

Wow things are moving quick for you! I'm having to get my blade sent directly to the sheath maker then I'll get it since he must have the blade. Hopefully my first will go as fast as yours!

Not quick enough when you're the one waiting! I'm an instant gratification kind of guy which is making this a tough time for me. :P

I'm right there with us brother. I waited 2 years for my 0777, after a time I kinda forgot about it. After that, 14 weeks isn't horrible, I just have to keep myself busy so I don't think of it! Even worse when you know it is done and just waiting for it to arrive

Still haven't decided how I'm going to go with sheaths, but I'm getting close. Good to see I'm not all antsy by myself.

Not to derail, but when does Busse verify the funds? I ordered last Tuesday, but nothing hit my account yet and nothing on the website either.

Mine was within a couple days. But also depends on your card company and how fast they post things.

I set up to have mine sent to Mr Brown from BuyBrown and he is going to experiment with an open spine zombie treatment sheath. If that doesn't work, we're just going with Typhon
