Just picked up a 1st gen bushcraft

Thanks for the questions, schmittie.

You are welcome to contour it yourself - doesn't void the warranty unless you go too deep and mess up the pins. I'll gladly rehandle it for you, but you'll need to cover the expenses.

I'm not too crazy about adding contours to the handle as-is. I will try it if you really want me to, but no promises.

Look at the 2nd-to-last picture in my post above. The bottom of that curve is right at that 2nd pin on your knife. I can probably get enough swell and still avoid removing too much of the pin's head. But.....putting a concave curve like that on the pin's head is going to be a disaster. Pins tend to "dome" since the material is usually harder than the handle material. I will have to spend a great amount of time carefully carving it out by hand with files to get it right. At the end of the day it's my work out there.

So, yes, I can do it. But I'd rather not and I would have to charge too much to do it.

I'll be opening up my Bushcraft list again in the Spring and they will all have contoured handles. If you don't want to buy another knife, I could do a rehandle and just leave out the 2nd pin. Looking at $60 + s/h.

I can't offer a price on reshaping the handle as I have no idea the time it will take me to do it right.

Let me know.

Thanks for your honesty. That defiantly makes sense about the second pin above the lanyard hole. It would be a good idea for me to not even think about an hourglass shape.

Since you don't mind, I may carefully and slowly try to adjust the handle myself. Nothing too extreme, of course. If and when I decide to give it a go, I'll post up picks if you don't mind. I'm in no hurry to turn a work of art into a disaster.

Thanks again for the quick reply.
