My first Spyderco is on its way!

Picked it up on the exchange here. I have been on the edge with spyderco for some time now and saw this Millie pop up and couldn't pass on the deal. I am used to heavy duty folders, Ontario XM Strike Fighter, Quartermaster Qtr8, Houge EX01, Sebenza 25. Am I going to be disappointed by the Millie? I am excited to get it in my hands though, I have heard many good things about spyderco.

If the military was my first Spyderco I could have saved many hundreds of dollars trying to find my favorite.

Excellent choice!

It feels huge at first, but really carry and use it before deciding if you like it or not.

I finally got a Military a few weeks ago, my 10th Spyderco. Every good thing I've read about it is true. Well chosen!

The Military is one of the finest knives produced...period. Easily in my top five.

Looks like I made a good choice for my First Spyderco! I think I am going to go for a Manix 2 XL next. I love that leaf blade shape. I am currently sitting in my post office parking lot waiting for them to open so I can pick up my Millie. Couldn't wait for them to deliver it. I have an issue when it comes to knives. I have spent north of a grand on them so far this year, the wife just might kill me. I already have a large colection, but most of them are collectors knives and finnish knives like puukko's. I really just started in the EDC folder area this year.

Wow this is bigger than I thought it would be! I am pleasantly surprised!

You will not fully appreciate the military until you carry, fondle and use it for a little while. If you like it now then you will love it very soon! Enjoy.

I have been playing with it since I picked it up from the post office at 7:30 am. I am really liking it thus far, fits my hands almost perfectly. Blade is beyond razor sharp. I do believe I have fallen for spyderco. The paramilitary 2 is second on my list of knives to buy next.

Wow that's a great Spyderco to start with. I started much lower than a Millie, lol.

Congrats!!

I don't have a Military, but this is exactly how I feel about my Manix 2 xl. I just got it Monday, and it is already my new favorite Spyderco. At least until my next new favorite Spyderco. :D

I think the Manix 2 XL is going to be my next knife acquisition. Father's Day is next weekend...

Manix 2 XL and Para 2 were my first two Spydercos. Wouldn't part with either.

My XL has been my primary going to work folder (industrial site) for close to 2 years now and its become a real favorite to me. If it got lost or stolen (heaven forbid) I would definitely buy another.
A work mate eyed it for a while, and eventually asked me to source a DLC one for him. He's a fitter by trade, it's his work knife and he loves it.
One thing my XL does have/need, more so than my 9 other Spydies, is a deep carry clip.

As for the Para 2, I find it's so applicable in a wide variety of EDC situations. But I'm picking you've already read reams of stuff on it that I couldn't really add to.
Some people don't seem to like the Para 2, fair enough, but for the life of me I can't see why.

Your Millie, the XL and Para 2, are all knives that the fullest appreciation of is obtainable only by carrying and using them for a while. At least thats my experience.
