Just pix of knives

This was an old Solingen mini bowie type knife i think was used for the scouts years ago. The tip was broken and the handle busted up. Instead of throwing it away i just turned it into something rustic and crunchy. Hammered walnut scales with brass pins and wrapped with rawhide. Stainless blade was aged and the secondary bevel was convexed. Its now one of my sharpest knives.

I know its as ugly as sin, but we love what we love dont we . . and i love this. It's sharp, light and very comfortable 😁

very cool. What is the process used to describe them as hammered walnut scales? Sorry for a silly question, I know scales are cut and sanded to shape. maybe tapped into place with a hammer. Just curious.
