Yes, the cordura pouch was part of the issue. However it didn’t carry any Victorinox emblem or branding, just a generic pouch that was likely sourced separately by the suppliers. It came as a set in a generic white box (not my pic) :

Hi EG! The Recon M1 is still on my 'want-list'. I'm waiting for a deal to come-up, and some more cash-flow. Looking at an Off Grid Blackout Stinger XL, coming-in at just under 4 inches in blade length. At an MSRP of $99 USD, its more in-line with what I want to spend, at this time. Caught the blade review on Gideon's Tactical, and was immediately intrigued. I own a few knives from Off Grid, and they are decent for the price-point. I wanted a Cold Steel Hatamoto, but it turned-out to be a major disappointment: no triad lock, not ambi, and no lanyard hole. Plus, alot of money for something that won't meet my parameters.
