This is very nice way of putting that lanyard on it, good idea !
I got one of their skulls just for the heck of it, just for the cliché ( I'm not that crazy about skulls) and I just tied something at the end to be able to grab it,
but I like your setup - short, providing traction and stays away from the blade...

I always liked the geometry of those Kilzlyar's blades, what kind of steel they are using on this-one ?

Z60is the steel. It specs out like it is roughly AUS8, bur I have to tell you that when we took it to Richard J's place to sharpen it this steel is AMAZINGLY tough. So for what it is, its sharp, holds its edge very well, and is REALLY tough and abrasion resistant.
