I really like Les's work, have owned 2 of his ZT designs, and still have my 0909. My Wilson Combat Les George Eagle is one of my favorite knives and is a frequent work user.View attachment 869633 View attachment 869634 View attachment 869635
My Les George VECP...polished the hardware and gave the blade more or a satin/lightly polished look.![]()

I've almost pulled the trigger on a VECP a few times. You've taken a really well-designed, solid knife and made it absolutely stunning, man! That one's just moved up several notches on the want list.![]()
I like sterile too. The only thing that bothers me at all about the two LGs I have is all the text, etc on the blades. I'd really rather not have my knives look like billboards. You pretty expect it on a ZT, but the Wilson Combat markings are big on both sides. That's why I love the polishing mods on my 0801.Thank you! I really appreciate it! I have fun tinkering...I was a bit nervous when I started it but figured that I could always go back to the stonewashed finish if i didn't like it. I'm happy with the results and really like the "sterile" look. If you hold the blade at the right angle, you can still see the "George" laser etching... reminds me of a hologram .
I highly recommend the VECP...extremely well made, great steel, locks up like a vault. High quality in every way.
I like that contrast too. I sent my XM24 to Josh at REK for a re-grind from sharpened-prybar Spanto to light-saber shallow hollow-grind. The 600 grit finish on the primary grind is like a high polish with the grind lines showing and he did the swedge to match, leaving the flats with the original coarse stone-wash--just the opposite of my Rexford. That looks great...I really like the contrast between the stonewashed finish and the polished flats...always fun to personalize!
I agree...he's always done great by meUsing Josh is the best Plan A ever, so you'd be more than covered with him as Plan B.
What kind of sh*teel?Today The infamous Ozark Trail by Walmart!.. 3,87$ for this folder!.. I just modified this one. Give a satin finish to the upper side of the blade, heat anodized pocket clip and thumbstud, bronze washer instead of the original plastic one. At that price I had to buy it!..
