I’m going to have to try flipping it open with the thumb stud when I get a chance. I’ve never tried it with this knife before.

It does work flipping with the thumb stud, but it's not as smooth as my Hinderer non flipper. That surprised me, but the non flipper Hinderer is very close to this knife even without the bearings as far as flicking open and falling shut goes.
