Supposedly the brightest pocket torch available, with 80-100 lumens and only about the size of a lithium battery. we will soon see about that:rolleyes: i purchased the 3 watt rechargable version witht the extended runtime switch along with a spare cell
ill try and post some beam shots when it arrives. from the site though this little light looks amazing
cheers
Rob

There's a version with a two stage switch, it gives about 90 minutes at low power and a scant 12 at high power.

the orb site says that the extended switch gives an 8 hour runtime on low power. slight twist for low power, twist more for the main output

I have a Raw, but not the two stage switch. Hence, I have no personal experience of the two stage switch's runtime or brightness level. Here's what is on Orb's Web sight about it though: [Edit: there is a review here http://hellzteeth.com/reviews/orb_raw/orb_raw.htm It has some beamshots but no runtime graphs]

New Optional Two stage switch - £5
Now making the Raw even more practical as an EDC (Every Day carry) Low setting gives a massive 8 hours run time. Light output on low is plenty for most tasks & blows single 5mm led torches into history. As the standard Raw on high you have the Worlds brightest smallest LED torch in a package no bigger than your Thumb.

Where do you get a Orb Raw?? And how much are they is US dollars?

Direct from manufacturer in UK:
http://www.theorb.co.uk/

A US Source (don't believe the two stage switch option is available here though):
http://www.lighthound.com/sales/orb_raw_flashlight.htm

Having done business with both above, I'll recommend either source -- just depends on what your looking for and how long you are willing to wait for delivery. Lighthound ships very quickly via USPS if you're in a rush.

Here are my U-bin and T-bin Raws. Both have the tritium inserts for easy location in the dark.

The early flavor had the somewhat brighter U-bin LED, but there weren't many of those to go around. They are extremely bright for their size, and feed on rechargeable CR2 batteries. I consider mine more of a novelty than something I EDC.

Orb is offering an even smaller version at candlepowerforums.com. Don't think it is on the website. The smaller "son of Raw" runs on some kind of tiny battery that is even smaller than a CR2. But there is only one manufacturer of those batteries, and who knows if you will even be able to get a replacement next year or in 5 years. So I passed on that one.

best regards
