i might be going against rules, asking about a custom job without inviting work offers. i'm not even sure if it's doable and if it is, maybe next year at the soonest.
1. i live in the philippines and i don't travel. i do a lot of paypal transactions but only on ebay. i never tried transacting directly with individuals.
2. jumping to it, i'd want plain titanium slabs on a spydie police 3 with an ffg plain vg-10 blade. profile will follow the original g-10 handle scales. finish and chamferring on the slabs should be exactly like those on the titanium military. i really dig the ti millie. i have two at the moment.
3. i thought this job would be easy since the stainless steel liners follow the full outline of the (g-10) handles without any nesting. i might be wrong.
4. basically everything else will be as it were. the slab will be drilled and tapped to restore the pocket clip to the original right-hand, tip-down carry.
5. i really want it clean and without frills. though i thought some large, discontinuous jimping along the open edge of the handle would be nice: one set at the choke-up area, another at the middle, one more near the butt for choking down.
6. if engaged, the custom worker will likely do a progress billing: a down payment, cost to buy a stock police 3 g-10, cost of titanium and other tools and materials, final release billing and shipping.
any ideas? thanks.
