I thought I'd make this thread a little review.

Both the knife and the sheath came to me in a big envelope, lined with bubble foil. I have to say I am extremely disappointed. As you can see in this picture, the sheath is of poor quality, with very flimsy and loose stitching.

It also looks very unappealing, the color of the leather looks like dirty cat poop, and I absolutely hate the used look. It even has a bit of a Scandinavian style to it, which I absolutely hate.

The maker even put a D-ring into the belt loop, which can be attached to a belt loop with only 2 tiny snap closures. What a stupid idea! There's even a hole on the bottom of the sheath to attach a leg strap via chicago screw (which were both included), can you believe that? Multiple carry options, what a dumb idea.

The best part is actually the flimsy, thin leather used for the sheath. It is only barely thicker than the spine of the BK2! I can't believe a serious sheathmaker would use such thin leather for any sheath. Absolutely stupid. Fun fact: The belt loop is attached to the sheath with only 7 tiny brass rivets. 7 rivets! Ever heard of something like that?

This is a picture of the carry position I hate the least. As you can imagine, this is very uncomfortable, and I feel the knife pulling my belt down with every step.

There is actually one thing that I'm very happy with, the time it took to get here, which was only 9 weeks.

In all seriousness, I'm extremely happy with the sheath, you did excellent work, Nick! And of course I like the knife. I sort of lost the love for BK&T, because my BK14 got kinda old for me, but I've fallen in love again! The sheath is well-made, comfortable, extremely sturdy (the term "beating a zebra to death" comes to mind), easy to carry, bombproof... and heavy. Did I mention the stitching is excellent and the leather extremely thick? Dude, that's some nice work. After the nuclear holocaust, there will be three things: Cockroaches, IBM computers, and BK2s in Nix Leather sheaths.

Thanks for reading!

At long last. That sheath is bomb proof, Even your sarcasm just made that sheath wink at you. Glad you finally got it bro.

Good stuff meat. Good to see you finally got your BK2 in. Damn, that is one heavy duty sheath. Really nice work.

Glad you got your BK2 Brother.... That is a great looking sheath, nice work Nick!!

9 weeks is not so bad, think about when people used to travel without vehicles, you wouldn't have received it for another 9 weeks or longer...

It was expensive enough as is, it says $18.55 on the envelope. Miraculously, I didn't have to pay any customs or tax, I think they had mercy on me.

next time, make your bed, and hide the straps :)

Oh my god!!! I'm so relieved that you finally got it. I'm glad that you like everything (at least I think you do ;)). That was one of my first sheaths, and it was the drop sheath that I was going to keep for myself. I'm glad though that you finally got it, and that you like the sheath.

Brother, "Like" is an understatement. Not sure about the drop thingie yet, but I'll take a day off this week and test it all out. I've been carrying the sheath since the package got here, and it's as comfortable as you could imagine. I hardly notice the pound of steel on my belt. I really like the double stitching and the rivet overkill. A sheath that truly fits the BK2.

Would you like me to make a video review of the sheath? I could post it in the Sheaths & Such forum here, as well as on the facebook page for Nix Leather... or would you rather not see this early work posted anywhere? Either way, let me know what I can do for you.

Nick, what did you treat the leather with? It's got some strange smell to it which gives me a slight headache. Is that going to go away with use? I'll make sure to get some campfire smoke on it before commenting on that further.

Well that's good!

Yeah if you must you can review it on your youtube channel, but go easy on it; it's one of my first.

Glad to see you finally got your knife Meat! The BK2 is one of the "Must Own" Beckers in my opinion. Just a great knife.

Sweet lookin' leather right there. Likin' the distressed thing too.

What's up with your shipping though ? Why does it take so long ?
Talk about the definition of a marketing opportunity (find a NEED and fullfill it)
I hate when the B. School side of the brain takes over ... (LOL)

Enjoy your new rig.

nice sheath!

Do you have any pics of the back maybe? so we can see how the straps would attach to a belt?

I put 3 on top and 4 on the bottom. Here is a pic that I have before it got painted. I know it's not the greatest stitching on the back, but like I've been sayin' it was one of my first. And who sees the back anyway.
