Just shaved my head...any advice?

You poor Baldy-wannabes. I began losing my hair at 18 and am 50 now. The only bummer is I work on airplanes and there are plenty of pitot tubes, elevators, and other sharp metal to keep a good scab around a long time.
My wife cuts my hair (what's left) about 4 times a year . I do not own a comb, just use my fingers .

Like the Mrs. says, "Two bald heads are better than one". :D

Something interesting that I noticed is that I bump my head more often.

Yeah, I know what you guys mean. It seems like my scalp is a magnet for the edge of shelves, cupboards, tabletops, etc. I don't know whether we smash our heads more often or it just shows more. Big, nasty scabs from scalp wounds stick around for a long time. It seems like this happens a lot around the holidays, which is the only time I get my picture taken. I have a series of pictures of me with nicks in various places.

:grumpy: :D

Have you tried Nair?
Naw, I think I'd like to actually have the option of growing my hair back. I always flash back to the Seinfeld episode where the dude tried to let his hair grow back in after having shaved it for so long and it didn't grow back in certain areas.

I don't have to shave my head at all. I'M GOING BALD!!!!!!!!!!
I cheated :D

Well, shaved in the shower tonight and tried it with soap this time. Problem is I had so much stubble that it just wouldn't lather up. I think I'll go back to the shaving gel routine. Takes too long, though--I think I'm gonna try out every couple of days and see how much grows in. My hair is really thick and I have a whole lot of it (or had, as it were), and it grows rather quickly. Still need to tan it--looks a little more white today than it did yesterday.

Zen dont it feel great waking up and realizing that you dont have to worry about your hair being messed up? I buzz my head with clippers every summer, but today decided to let the mach 3 have it's way with my scalp.

Feels weird,kind of clammy.

Yeah, that's the best thing about it--not worrying about my hair at all.

Hey Zenghost, it's been a while since your new look so, how do you like being bald?
I think I'm adjusting rather well to this. I'm not as conscious of it as I used to be, although when it's completely shaved it still feels a little weird. Right now it feels almost exactly like astroturf after 5 or 6 days of not shaving it, but I'll be doing it again tomorrow. I still need to tan it more to get it looking a little more natural. I definitely see this look sticking with me for a while--it's really grown on me.

No, it hasn't. That's the problem with shaving your head. When it's grown on you, it's not shaven any more.

I was waiting to see who would catch that first...ya bastid :D .

I have stopped "short" of shaving it. I get it cut once a week, below the #1 setting.Being blonde it looks shaven, but really is about as long as sand paper.

Only thing is its almost a fad today and I hate to be lumped togather with many of the new bald for awhile fad guys.

don't see going back to hair, especially when it's starting to thin out anyway. I use a disposable twin blade in the shower about every other day. Try using conditioner instead of gel. That's a tip I picked up from one of my wife's Cosmos...but it really works. Welcome to the club.

If you get an electric Beard & Moustache shaver, you can do it yourself. It just takes a couple of minutes, and you can even adjust the height a bit.
