I just like Okapi :)

Thanks :)

the top one is a 1979 , the middle one is a 907ess ( stainless blade ) the bottom one is a 907e with the ordinary carbon steel blade .

Nice set. The three in the center are Okapi too?

You might be interested (if so, you might be the only one interested) in seeing this small set of German-made Okapi knives. The quality is terrible, the worst knives I've ever seen in my life. And like a dunce, I placed my catalog stickers on the front of the knives...

I ordered one of the new African-made Okapi knives from Ragweed forge, and it's much nicer than these German-made junkers.

They are nice looking knives , in good condition , I love the pressed steel handles .

I know its not the in thing , but I like them , they bring back memories . My dad would only let me buy Okapis , because they were blunt when they were sold , and for a 7 yr old , blunt knives were safe :)

I learned to sharpen them tho .

Okapis were never designed to be high end knives , even their website says "Traditionally the Pocket and Butcher Knives are used by the lower end of the market for whom a knive is a neccessity."

I like them because they are just a knife that is made to cut and last a while .

I have one thats been a regular EDC for over 20 years , its got the look and feel of a cheap knife , and has had for all those 20 years , but it cuts like a razor :)

I still carry that old thing regularly .

I never knew about Ragweedforge selling Okapi till it was too late.

The edge might be dull on these German Okapi knives, but you could get a bad cut from the burr. :D

Hello Myal,
These knives are part of your family history. And to me that is what makes it so interesting!
