Just thought about a good item for a survival kit

the rat traps work great. the kids love them while camping , it kinda gets them into the action. they work for squirrels and chipmunks.

They work great for harvesting ducks and geese as well. Just place where they nest at night or let the baited trap float out to them when they are on the water. attach some light, strong cord to a screw or evelet attached to the back of the trap.

They also make good clamps for holding things, like torn fabric so you can sew it easier. They can be used as alarms as well, or as fish catchers. they are not great as turtle traps, but if you choose to use them as fish catchers, it helps if you put a nail or two through the base plate to add some grip. not long nails, just enough tip through to grab the fish. Don't forget to anchor the traps.
