Its just to cold to go out side today. But here I am getting more Fire Wood in for the colder nights. I didn't see any coyotes just some cold birds flying high in the sky. One Blackhawk and three woodpeckers and some winter finches. I do appreciate the wilderness and the lords creations.

Terry

Just looking at the wood makes me wish I never came out here.

I am not to sure if I want to do this right now. But I need the heat. Wish me luck

Looking out into the field makes me want a good hot cup of coffee.

The temperature is not to bad. But it feels like 0 to me.

I've burned more wood this year than I have in 20 years of living here in Oklahoma if that is any indication. It must be that global warming Al Gore is all in a panic about or somethin'!

It's not that bad, at least the sun is out. :)
This morning I went to a scrap yard and bought myself 6' of 12" pipe. My truck heater doesn't work, so I kept warm by hoisting the pipe (250 pounds) into the back. :D
Now I'm going to go build myself a Don Fogg style vertical forge. If you don't hear from me in a few weeks, you can tell them where to look for the frozen body. :grumpy: :D

You know it's cold out when you open the refrigerator to warm the place up. :D

It's been downright warm here in the Northern Rockies. It's getting above freezing on a regular basis. We really need a cold snap before all of the ice climbs melt. Do you think you guys could share the weather? How about a trade?

Today I was out of work attending a funeral, so I heat treated 9 knives. So damned cold in the shop the air from my nose looked like a big bad ass bull snorting smoke:D

Actually pretty nice here today... must be nearly double digits above zero. No wind, thank goodness... yesterday it was clear, but really windy, and that blows.

:D

The good news is, the air is so dry your glasses don't even fog up when ya come back inside

Quit your whining,:D I had -9f here this morning and its all the way up to -1f here now. been in the shop since 7 this morning and just come in for lunch

It was 13 degrees above zero when I got up this morning. Got down to 11 last night for the low. Thats pretty darn cold for the zone we live in based on the 20 years we've lived here.

I'm quite jealous hearing about your "real" winter weather... We never cooled down yet. Still in the 80's today and way too hot. Please send some of that cool weather over here...

Buncha darn winers we went darn near the whole month of december and never got above 0. but today is 53 so i guess what comes around goes around.

Terry I lived in Dayton Ohio for 23 years so i know how cold it can get in that part of the country. Keep the fire going and maby do a little hand sanding to keep worm.
I hear you about all the wild criters that are out and about.

Back in the early 70's I visit my mother and live there for 3 months. I live on 8 street. I could look out and across and see Pike Peak. We lived in the trailer court there. Just before you get to the Holiday Inn. It sure was beautiful country with the mountains. I got to pan for gold just below Cheyenne Mountain. Hope you ColoradoSprings boys have a dandy one.
