I had some extra time today, so I decided to make my newest addition to the collection feel a bit more at home.

Before a Citri-strip bath:

In all of its glory. I think I did a pretty ok job sharpening this one. Push cuts paper with ease. This is probably the sharpest blade that I own.

I can attribute that to the progression of grit, patience, and some RED SHARPIE!

The tip is still intact. Glad I didn't mess THAT part up. :)

Thanks for looking everybody.

Happy Memorial Day!

Looks good! Get that bad boy oiled up ASAP or the decarb will rust very quickly.

Nice job. Got some dimples, cool.

Oh, hey....you got some great legs, man.

Seriously..what do you use to sharpen.

Dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where did you find a RED sharpie!!?????

Oh yeah, the squatch is okay I guess.😒

Never used paper wheels. This is all harbor freight baby. And a surgi sharp leather strop belt for the 1x30

She's a beauty Timmy!!! Nice job brother!! And yes ---- it's all about the steady grit progression!! I love the SARsquatch!!

Nice score! Maybe we'll get one of those when OP2W resumes. Going to strip an RMD here in a few days. My gateway blade into this addiction. I never warmed up to the moss green and have beaten a lot of the finish off anyway.

Really nice job - mind if I ask what stripper you used and how you got it so clean around the scales (if you left them on), and are the scales wet from washing, or did you do something extra to them as well. The edge is super nice on that, and sounds sharp as well, I would be very proud of my work if I could achieve that end product.

Thanks for reply if you get to it.

I used citristrip. It's the strongest that I use anymore since destroying the porcelain in my bathroom sink...... There's some strong stuff out there. Citristrip is all that you need if you wrap it in my hat and let it sit.

The scales were left on. I used a plastic butter knife to get in the books and crannies. Then I hit it with a scotch brite pad in a mandrel drill attachment.

Those scales are just plain DERRTY! Haha. It was very warm in my garage whilst doing this, and they soaked up a bunch of sweat. A bit o' dishsoap clears that right up.

Tin - so the citristrip won't harm scales? Just apply everywhere, and wrap it in what, a hat? Or a towel, or what?

Thanks again.
