Today at school they had a introduction to business seminar for the trades students, with a free lunch to boot.(What can I say I am a starving student, haha:p) But I am glad I went, this company offers 5000 dollar loans to students to start their own business, interest free, and once the loan is paid off you get 25% of the loan back in cash. Not a bad deal!

Anyway, they offered up a raffle so people wouldn't just eat and leave, and I was the third cash prize winner! Only 50 bucks but hey, I never win anything. the funny thing is I had a very strange feeling he would call my name, so I feel like I should get myself something nice. The first thing that came to mind is a RAT IZULA in desert tan, but I just bought a barkie little creek, I need some other ideas to ponder. Fire away!
 
Tarp, candle lantern, mora 2k, waterbottle/GI-cup, maxpedition 10x8 bottle holder, Jarvapaa puuku, wetterlings hatchet, REI- self inflatable sleeping pad (like thermarest but cheaper), alumunium hiking poles, titanium pot or kettle, sterie pen or other water filter/purifier set up, a couple of firesteels from Storl, rain pants, GI-poncho, poncho liner, becker bk2 or beckernecker....Oh there are lots of things to spend $50 on.
 
I won an all expenses paid trip to South East Asia once, but that was all.

If I won $50, I'd get a new Condor Bolo Machete and sheath.
 
That's a good chunk towards a Wetterlings...$50 that you won't ever lose or wear out :)
 
All the above suggestions are very good. I just bought an Ontario 18" machete made in the USA for $20.00 and a sheath for it at $9.99 from knivesplus.com, for under 40 bucks I'm pretty happy. That's my recommendation.
 
Considering you call yourself a 'starving student'... I'd probably put it in the bank. But, I guess I'm a stick-in-the-mud! :D
 
Id get a couple maxpedition pouches, but thats just cause I need a few...

50.00? You could always blow it at county comm on cool stuff, or maybe a Fenix torch, Condor golok would be cool too....

Hell when I was a student that would be 2 pitchers and 3 lap dances, or something like that.....But since this is W&SS you better be thinking fire when you think hot!
 
Technically not starving, lot's of KD and stuff stocked up, haha.
I was just looking at Izulas the other day and decided not to pull the trigger, as there is little expendable income, but then I had the weird feeling right before they called my name. I looked at knives ship free after school and the Izula was 49.99$, the universe wants me to have an Izula I believe. :D

Didn't Descartes say something to the effect of "Izula, therefore I am," or something like that?
 
If I, had 50 denero....I'd get a new nalgene and a stainless cup for it. Or I'd get buck 110. Pair it with $30 I have now, and buy an adidas firestar 2 jacket in navy. Or make it go towards the survival kit i'm building.
