  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Just won 50 smackers. What would you buy?

Lap dances and ingrate sons...I like the tad bit of pirate flair that's seeped into this thread. Pretty comical. :D

it would be going towards a gb small forest axe... or maybe a sak farmer but either way it would be something i dont need but thinks is cool and therefore find some use for it

Id throw in another thirty and buy the Micarta EDC or the Orange G10 Hunter/Utility in O1 from the makers forum.

I won an all expenses paid trip to South East Asia once, but that was all.
If I won $50, I'd get a new Condor Bolo Machete and sheath.

Hey, I won one of these gov't travel vouchers once too. Not to SE Aisa though. The only thing was the accomodations in country sucked big time. If anyone else wins one of these trips, beware the fine print.

Today at school they had a introduction to business seminar for the trades students, with a free lunch to boot.(What can I say I am a starving student, haha:p) But I am glad I went, this company offers 5000 dollar loans to students to start their own business, interest free, and once the loan is paid off you get 25% of the loan back in cash. Not a bad deal!

Anyway, they offered up a raffle so people wouldn't just eat and leave, and I was the third cash prize winner! Only 50 bucks but hey, I never win anything. the funny thing is I had a very strange feeling he would call my name, so I feel like I should get myself something nice. The first thing that came to mind is a RAT IZULA in desert tan, but I just bought a barkie little creek, I need some other ideas to ponder. Fire away!

These two statements don't belong in the same post, unless you're starving b/c you used the grocery money to buy the knife.lol

I think "Travel to exotic locations" might have been the headline but, yeah, the fine print was something I should have read. The bad thing was that the people who lived in that exotic location really didn't like American tourists dressed in cammies.

For some reason I went back several times. Some people are just slow learners, I guess.

:thumbup:Congrats for winning Liam!

The steak is a very good idea, I may just put the Izula on my x-mas list for my dear old mum to sacrifice just a little bit more for me. :D

And yes, the little creek is a big reason why funds are tight, bought it before I made a serious assessment of my finances, so it may be on the chopping block along with a lot of other knives, and guns for that matter. :(

A big steak is sounding better and better.

You could get another great little knife, the Becker Necker, and still have $15 left over for the steak & charcoal...beer would be on your own dime.

Like most of us, eventually you will end up getting both the Becker and the Izula, so start off with the lower cost one to hold you over until mom & dad come through with the RAT.

 i agree

kgd is "the man", anything on his list will work.

Better to go "quality" instead of quantity when you have to depend on your gear!

Perhaps put $20 into an "Emergency Cash Fund" and buy gear with the rest, that might be the best of both worlds for you rignt now, oh and send a nice card to your mom :)
