it started life as a standard black crinkle blade/magnum slab blk/blue G10 handle FFBM......

the one on the bottom of this pic:

it was mint when i sent it to ban.....brand spankin new...

i had ban do a few things......

the blade was stripped and given a frosty satin finish......the flats retain the dimples, but they were smoothed out a bit and the satin finish was applied over the dimples.......

the primary bevel was frosty satinized with the grindmarks running vertical.....ie, spine to edge......

the edged is a classic banned edge......mirror polished zero convex......

ban also replaced the blk/blue G10 magnum slabs with black paper micarta slabs.....thickness is right between magnum and standard thickness......and the slabs were hand smoothed and given a high polish...

here she is after her makeover:

enjoy!!!

no pic.. if your using photo bucket, I found out that if you put pictures in, then delete some in your album or move them, they won't come up.. might have to re post if this is the case.. definately would like to see it. this is exact same model I have except my blade was gray.. actually got it from Ban. Didn't know what kind of stuff he did until later. I think if I had know, I would have had him do the "Ban" thing before he shipped it.. his work is beautiful..

Not sure what pic you posted because pic no worky. Here are a few pics that I took to hold you guys over ;)

now thats a winner!

Man, your finish is the finest!

Scariest edge Ive seen:D

awe ban, you ruined the surprise!!!!

anyways, thanks for the beautiful blade man......definitely worth the wait......which was not long at all.....

your price was so affordable, and the level of work is just unbelievable, for any price......

anyone who is considering sending a blade to ban for some work, you better do it quick!!!

as word spreads about his work, it will get increasingly difficult to get a "banned" blade...

my new favorite battle mistress.....and that includes my nmfble.....

hey ban, i will be emailing you about getting some more work done......i would love to get the ban treatment on a skinny ash that i have right now.......

i remember the skinny ash you worked over for skunk, and i would like the exact same thing...

thanks again ban...

As always "spectacular" work
Maybe Ban needs a logo stamp "Banned" would look cool on the blade
and the you would always know who did the mod if it was sold or traded.

Yeah, I think a logo of some sort might be a good idea. But then it should have a Busse Combat stamp on it, too, for completion and credit where it's due. Those awesome finishes Ban puts on do look nice when sterile, though...

I had thought about a logo for my mod work sometime back but dropped it because I did not want to take credit for Jerry's work and design. I think a combo logo like Banned Busse would be cool. It would have my mark and still give credit to Jerry. But then again... Since the knife will no longer be covered under Busse warranty I am not sure how Jerry will feel about that. I will have to ask him about it the next time we talk.
