I just picked up my first custom knife, I got it from Justin/RSKT and the entire experience was a great one. Justin held the knife for me when I mentioned I liked it, for several weeks until I had the necessary funds. He communicated with me through the entire process, also going into great detail about his process, the materials used (1080 and G10) and why he uses those materials. He stands behind his work 100% and repeatedly encouraging me to notify him of any problems with the knife. He gave me the option of a leather or kydex sheath (I went with leather) and it was a pleasure just talking to him in general. The knife came today and was even better than expected. Had a good edge, the handle was comfortable in a variety of positions and the sheath holds the knife excellently. I'm just waiting for the tuf cloth application to dry and then I will be putting it through its paces. I definitely couldn't be happier with the knife and Justin will be having a repeat customer in the future.

Justin's knife between a benchmade 162 and an ESEE 4. While the blade is a little shorter than the ESEE, the cutting edges are approx. the same.

Went for a short test run in the foothills, I'll do a more in depth one when I have more free time. The knife performed excellently at feathersticking, batonning, carving tent stakes, making notches for a lean to, planing and general whittling and carving. There were no hot spots in any of the various grips/tasks I used the knife for, it was really a joy to use. The sheath rode well, and never jabbed me in any position. I kept involuntarily saying to myself out loud "I REALLY like this knife." Although 1080 is a softer steel, the heat treat and the geometry of the blade keep a great edge. I spent almost the entire time actively trying to dull the knife and after I was done it still cleanly sliced paper. Good job on the knife, Justin I'll be buying again in the future.
