Here’s John W. Smith’s latest tactical model, the RG-1, up for sale. It has bead-blasted titanium bolsters with a black micarta backspacer. The blade is CPM-S30V with a hand-rubbed finish and a “fighter-style” blade grind.

The handle is made of black carbon fiber and has a grooved handle and back spacer for better gripping on a reverse grip. The opening disc is ambidextrous and there’s a lanyard hole in the handle.

The blade is wicked sharp and the action is smoother than a newborn baby’s buttocks.

The blade length is 3 1/4. Over all length is 7 1/8, Close length is 4 3/8. Condition is mint; never sharpened, carried or used. Price is $450, CONUS priority mail shipping and insurance is $12. Money order or PayPal, the latter with the 3% PayPal fee included.

Thanks,

Mike

I just want to say, I don't buy a lot of knives, especially folders. It takes an outstanding knife to get me to part with my money. I have the larger RG-1 model and I agree with everything Mike said about it. The quality is truly top-notch and you won't be disappointed. Nice piece.

Thanks Leo. He really does know how to make them; from high end art knives to solid tacticals. This can be a great EDC.

Ceiw, I replied to your offer.

I'll knock the price down to $440 with same shipping, insurance and PayPal as in my first post. Thanks to all who have looked.

No, it hasn't sold yet, but I'm trading some emails. Just to be clear, price is $440, buyer pays 12 for shipping and insurance plus 3 percent for PayPal.

Last price drop to $430 and then it's going out of the pouch and into my pocket if it doesn't sell.

Thanks for looking.

My price is about $35 less than what you'll find elsewhere online. Smith is a voting member of the Knifemakers Guild. He spends most of his time on high-end knives and doesn't make a ton of tacticals in this price range.

The grinds on this knife are superb.
