I have a Kabar 1607 Folding Hunter. The blade is stamped Cleveland, OH on the front, and Hong Kong on the back. about 5" closed + 4" clip point blade. I'm hoping for some info if anybody knows if this is a decent knife. I will tell you what I think I know, because there is not a lot of info on this one so I've pieced together some things. please correct me if I'm wrong.

- I'm pretty sure this was a Ka-Bar "inspired by" the Buck 110.
- These knives were produced for only a few years in the mid 80's
- A knife in the same product line was referenced to have 420J2 blade steel, so I assume this one does as well considering the possible Buck inspiration.
- The blade is thick, I'm thinking 5/32"

I don't really know anything else about it and I'm wondering if it's worth keeping or if I should sell it off to get something else.

You'll get better insights on this in the Traditional forum.

Lot's of companies have produced 110 clones.

There's not connection between being a 110 clone and the choice of 420J2 steel. The Ka-bar "110" type knife I've seen used 1095 but that was only one.

Pictures would help.

You can't ask about value unless you're a gold member.

Oh I may have worded that part wrong at the end. I wasn't asking for a value. It was more of a personal value to me, or usefulness. If the blade is of an inferior quality compared to others I already have, then there would be no incentive for me to keep it.
