I have been wanting to share this for months but, there was a chance it would not happen.....Sooooooo....
I had to keep my mouth shut........

KA-BAR has purchased EK Knives...... John Ek made some of the coolest knives of the War Two era......Simple, straightforward stickers, they were highly sought after private purchase blades that very rapidly achieved iconic status, especially in the pacific theater.......

The brand has fallen on difficult times since the old Blackjack acquired them and Ek then went south with the rest of Blackjack.......The previous owners took the brand back and nothing much happened for a looooong time.......

Enter John and KA-BAR from stage left with a clatter of hooves, mounted on a white stallion, charging to the rescue !!!!!!!..... A bit hyperbolic perhaps but, I really think that with KA-BAR's purchase that there will be a real revival......... As a youngster I only saw pictures but I lusted mightily for one and I may have even drooled a bit........Soon, I hope to own a KA-BAR version......I have every confidence that they will be the best Ek Knives ever made.....YAY.....WOOT WOOT......

Ethan.

I heard about this earlier (today I think, maybe last night) and they look so sweet! Hopefully they aren't as pricey as the Stone knives!

How about a little boot knife:

Thats great news The original EK is one knife That I wanted as bad as a Randall made took me 33 years to get the Randall now after a little longer wait may finally get a EK just hate waiting another year to see them out.

Cool! I always liked the Ek daggers.

Now someone get my my EK-2, 1/4", dagger ground with a Becker handle. Also doubles as a railroad spike, hitch pin and mini hi lift jack handle in a pinch.

'Eero I actually have that exact same type knife, I had it given to me by my army chief, as he didn't care for knives.
But I actually did not know it was a brand knife, I thought it.was something he had bought cheap, like other non knife people so often doo...
Cool, I actually had a good knife and didn't know it....

The knife nut in me is having a seriously good time right now...... Dreams of the first really well made Ek factory blades are dancing merrily in my head........

An awesome addition to the Kabar line-up. I hope they stay a true to the original design as possible.

This is so cool. I was just looking at them the other day because I was drooling over traditional type stickers. Really excited to see what comes out of this.

Very neat. I like the look of these knives. I'm really excited for this, and hope to get my hands on one sometime!
