KA-BAR Acquires Ek Commando Knife Co.

Is it wrong to say this "bones me up"??? ;) Please do them in 440C, American made, the way they should be
. Bring them back to the classy, no-nonsense knife name they were...even in the 90's.

I'm going to speculate they will release them in S30V or some other high-end super steel. I would love some D2 though.

I'm wondering if they will keep current production in richmond va and what steel or steels will be used

I have an older EK Bowie,

If I had to leave in a bad situation and could only take one knife, this would be the one I would choose, hands down.

Good Luck to KA- BAR, Please spend the time and the money to make them great again!

My feeling exactly, the model 5 combat bowie was one of their finest patterns. :)

Out of curiosity, if you don't mind, what was the cost?

it was $259.00 plus $49.00 for the ingraving of U.S. ARMY on it. no sheath :(
but I still live it, he did a great job on it, so must so I don't want to uesd it, I bought a CRK Green beret.
I do love knives and guns

I have an EK Commando Bowie from 1990 that was in fact my first "survival" knife. Rambo knives were very plentiful back then at gunshows. Never used the knife. I then switched over to Randall's and more recently to Blackjack and Becker knives. Kabar makes some good knives and I have satisfied.

Not bad at all. Good for you!

I think this will be a good thing, i hope the model 5 is still kept and no longer hollow ground. I have a desert bowie with tan chord made for the first Iraq war, still one of my favorites.

I have lusted after an EK bowie for years but never got one. This news have me really excited. Ka-Bar, could you give us more info please? please? pleeeeease? thanks!!!

Any news or teaser pictures yet of the new K-Bar EKs? I regret not buying a EK about 25 years ago from a friend that bought and sold them. I'm looking forward to the KaBar versions and to see what if any new models/twists they come up with.
