Ka-bar Becker Bk-77 giveaway

Hmmm, better dig up some good ones. Pretty awesome of you for this contest!

Why do I always have my left the side facing the camera when I carry my 10 on my right? Because I'm horrible at planning. Anyway here's me filtering water on the knobstone in one of the creeks somewhere, mile 13 I think.

Took a quick kayak trip, just a half day with the ol lady, maybe 8 or 9 miles. Anyway, this isn't a One A Day ad, I have wax coated jute twine in the pill bottle. The gf decided we should take a little time to practice starting fires with ferro rods. This is the result...

Well, I'm not sure if both of these pics have been posted before or not, probably have, but I'm gonna give it a shot anyhow. Not before I say what a freakin' AWESOME give-away this is Brother Z!

On April 27th of this year, tornado after tornado ripped through the area of my state that we live in. While I did get to sleep at home when I did manage to get some sleep, I spent the next 12 days straight, and several other days here and there, outside doing almost nothing but bushy, crafty things, almost all of it with my BK9. This is the only pic I have of damage cleanup with the knife in the picture. Taken in my own backyard cleaning up a part of a tree that broke off in the wind. Thankfully, the only damage we sustained:

But this is the kind of daunting scene me and my 9 faced every day out in the field:

Lockhart-01.jpg

I understand the limit to two pics, but for a flavor of just what we (me and my 9) did for many days, multiply that scene by 100, maybe even 200, and that would only cover the devastation that we saw and worked on personally.

So it wasn't recreational use like hiking, hunting or fishing, but it was outdoors, and it was harder use than any other my BK9 has ever been asked to perform, and perform it did! God, I love that knife! Still, I coulda put about 7" of S30V to work out there and probably fallen just as deeply in love. On alternating days of course. We all know how jealous those bitches can get!

Anyway, that's my submission. Hope it qualifies. If not, congrats to the winner and thanks again for the AWESOME contest zaleski!

good times!

(if you view the pictures standalone, they should be embiggened. it's worth it on the bird)

Thanks, Zaleski, for this generous contest.

I made it out to the woods last night to enjoy the view, puff on the pipe, and play with some knives.

Wow! This is generousity at it finest. Kudos to you sir. Looking forward to all the pics. Good luck all. Staying out of this one.

this is a good contest, lots of pics and stories, some funny some gut wrenching...overall, contest or not, GOOD thread

Here are a couple of pictures from the end of this past hunting season. As the season winds down, my son and I end up spending more time snapping photos than we do releasing arrows. Here's an artsy one of me ready for a last moment deer - that's a BK9 on my left hip...

We were snickering about the ludicrous number of sharp things we had on us, so here's a picture of them. That's probably excessive for two guys but what are you going to do? :D

What's there to laugh about? It happened, mister.

I get so much mileage out of that photo. A lady at work calls me Moses now because of it. The funny thing is that while it's posed and deliberately corny, that's exactly how I looked for most of that trip because there's pretty much nowhere to go but in the water.

This is such a great contest, i wanted to say thanks for the chance, and now to the pictures.

This is from earlier this year. We went on a camping trip and it was a series of firsts for us all. We stayed in a teepee which was pretty neat, it was preetty cold still and the wood burner sure helped. It did rain every night though and the rain ran down through the smoke hole, a pretty intersting experience.

We also went zip lining and on a canopy tour for the first time for any of us. I am scared of heights to begin with, but I was very worried my 9 year old daughter would get scared and freeze up while we were 50 feet off the ground. Well that was a baseless worry becuase she handled it like a pro and had an absolute blast, she made me a very proud papa that day.

This past week we went camping and I split up a ton of wood with my BK2. Mine isn't a beuaty queen like some of the great ones I've seen on here, but it is well loved and used.

Well, since we got to the beach, I have been trying to find ways to get a decent pic or two of my knife. (I previously had a pic of my BK14 in a tree, but thought this was a better picture, so I switched em out. The other that was originally here is in my thread from my vacation, the link to which is down below.)

Here is my BK14 being held up against the deck rail on the Captain Hook, the fishing boat we took out to go shark fishing. I unfortunately did not catch a shark, which made me sad, cause I was going to use my BK14 to clean him with.

And this evening we took ourselves a very nice walk down the beach. I would call it a hike, but with as flat as it was, there wasn't much climbing or anything involved. I did however manage to get some amazingly terrible night pictures of my BK14 backlit by the moon.

Here we have the BK14 stuck into the sand, on the beach, overlooking the ocean off of Hilton Head Island, with the moon fitting ever so nicely into the hole in the handle. Took a million pics to get this one, so that should tell you something about how terrible the quality is of the others. Anyways, enjoy.

Zaleski, thanks for the awesome giveaway! This is hands down one of the nicest gestures I have seen here, and goes to show the caliber of people that we have as beckerheads.

Here is a link to the thread with more pics from the trip.
