all this talk about guns, and some spare cash burning a hole....must...resist...temptation!! aaargh I'll have to make a deal with myself

sure looks like a win/win, just the old want vs need debate; pretty well stocked right now but I guess you can't have too many guns.

well, got my bark rivers and started to dig AFTER I bought them...and I don't like what I have found out. The knives are well made and lookers for sure, but the maker's backstory is not agreeable. Seems like I'll beat up some on them and maybe let go in the future.

I'm gonna stick to what has been proven good stuff, KA-BAR RULES!! AND UNCLE E!!!

Hey, you've got them already. you might as well have some fun with them and see what lessons of steel they have to teach.

But yea.... The few I've handed seem like excellent blades, but that's one of the companies I don't foresee sending any business.

I was not impressed with BRKT, hence why I jumped into Ka-Bar instead. Too much money for not enough knife especially since they aren't custom grade.

HOLY SHADY BASTARDS BLADEMAN!!!

So, this sparked my interest. A quick Google Fu provided hours of entertainment lol.
Bark River Knives is officially off my list.
I've recently been checking out some higher dollar blades and these have been popping up. Psh...when I'm ready I'll just hit up a Beckerhead for a custom.

it has been a downward spiral...first checked the shady side of BRKT, then started checking the Mad Dog flame wars, then the hall of shame at GB & U...man, I'm gonna stick to the ones I have! if anything, this research has been a reminder of how important integrity is in all aspects of life. My only wish as a hobbyist maker is to never fall to such low levels.

We could do that, but 3/day is easier than 1000/day. See, with this one, we hit our minimum goal. Everyone after this one made today is gravy. An example of a simple daily post, other than chit-chat, that could be made might be

"What Non-Becker Kabar did you use today and why?" (Or we could do a diifferent thread for this :D)

I used an older, 1980s 1232 to break down boxes, open a clampack and other daily cutting chores because I am in Houston and a 4" fixed blade raises fewer eyebrows than a 5.25" 125X, for some inane reason.

I used a bk13cp today. I also gave a little sharpen to these kitchen knives I got from my grandmother. Japanese made from the 50's. Really nice to use and stay sharp far longer then the Cuisinart's my wife uses.

well, today I put one of my modded chop sticks in my backpack and it's still sitting there...nothing to destroy at the office but I'll figure what to do with it.

I've been using my Tactical spork on every camp trip, it is a great fork substitute but is a little short for using as a spoon for Mountain House meals and similar deep-bagged foodstuffs.

Oh yeah, and my Dozier folder made it out of my house and into my pocket for work today.

Man I wish I could have got one of those; was it d2 with micarta scales, Dozier folders when they were being offered. I just can't bring myself to pay $200, which I'm pretty sure what one cost last I found one.
