I put this in General Knife Discussion because I thought outstanding customer service supersedes their specific forum. Please accept my apology if it is mis-categorized and requires moving.
I wanted to give mega kudos to the Ka-Bar customer service department for helping me out with a BK7 that I got over the Christmas holiday. The grind of the knife was not to my satisfaction and the profile of the sweep angle at the tip was much more blunt than I have seen in others. In other words, the pointy end wasn't very pointy. The grind angles of the false edge were not symmetrical at all further giving the knife an odd appearance.
Ka-Bar offered to take my knife back and hand pick one with a better point for me. They also made me a deal for the new updated sheath that didn't come with mine. Yesterday the new one arrived and I couldn't be happier. The point is what I'd expect and the grind angles of the false edge are symmetrical. They turned it around the SAME DAY day from receipt.
It's important to me to do business with a company that values it's customers and it's reputation. Becker and Ka-Bar have an excellent product. It is nice to know that they also have outstanding customer service backing it up. :thumbup:
