Ka Bar/Dozier Thorn or Ka Bar D2 Extreme Folder

I am looking to add a Ka Bar knife to my collection and I am looking at the Thorn and the D2 extreme folder. I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on the subject. Please let me know what you think. Thanks

I found a Ka Bar D2 Extreme folder for $65.00 and a Thorn for $95.00, both NEW, is it worth the extra $30.00 to get the Thorn?

I picked up a Thorn recently I like it. Good feel, smooth, sharp and very light in the pocket, about as close to one of Bob D's as one can get, w/out the wait....I have not messed with the Extreme so I cant compare.

Anybody else have an opinion on these two knives?

I have handled both a Thorn and a D2 Extreme and I'd have to give the nod to the Thorn for the same reasons that BatAction mentioned. It opens nice and smooth and is and is light. The D2 that I handled had such a strong detent that I needed two hands to open it. A lot of people will tell you that a ball detent should be strong, and I'm not disagreeing, but it seemed to be too strong to be practical on the one that I handled.
