I am looking at getting a Ka Bar Fin drop point, nonserrated knife for survival and overall use and was wanting some opinions from owners or knowledgeable people about it. Looked at some videos on youtube by franchise chronicles that say this knife will handle mostly all chores thrown at it. Looking for any helpful info.:D

Had one. It was an awesome knife. Stout as hell. I beat on it and never hurt it. Chopping, batoning, tried to break the tip off by hammering it into hardwood and snapping the blade out sideways, punched it into sheet metal and garbage cans, chopped wire. Came though with flying colors.

Decided I was going to experiment with a convex grind on the blade to see if it cut better. Didn't improve it all that much (compared to a convexed edge profile) and I didn't like nearly as much as I did before I changed it.

The handle is a bit aggressive. If you have soft hands, you'll probably like to wear gloves.

Very flat profile. Doesn't catch on stuff and you can carry it using any method with no issues.

I'm going to get another sometime.

It's your lucky day! I just went to Amazon and bought the Drop point fixed blade Fin for 30.00 with free shipping, somebody decided to blow them out! Get'm while you can.

I own one and the fit/finish is very good, plus the knife came with one of the best factory edges I've encountered. I haven't had a chance throw heavy work at the knife (yet), but I'm confident it can handle alot. I might buy another just because the price is amazing.

AAARGH! All amazon has for that price is partially serrated drop point and tantos. Straight edges are $10 more. Still a good buy though. I may be forced to buy one of each.
