KA-BAR Grass machete?

I bet the grass machete would make a good chopper and splitter.

Another blade I've been looking at is a cheap Boker Magnum, it kind of reminds me of a Becker design.

Are those Becker scales on a Boker? Or are those the stock grips?

it should. those ARE becker handles. jerks :>

if you use Ethan's handle design, even if you used old stock and esp if you should say make molds and then make your own, for commercial purposes, you owe him royalties. ianal but i do has opinion.

older stock, older design, acquired from Camillus/Case iirc. they THINK they have a right to the design, though this has not yet been argued in court, afaik. yet ;)

Thank you, I didn't know that.... if Mr Becker is getting ripped off then I won't buy the Boker Magnum Machete. I'm a trumpet player and I believe strongly in intellectual property rights.

About the KA-BAR grass machete.... don't you think the blade is stout?
Compared to a Condor "grass type" machete it's more than twice as thick!

Seriously, are you still saying the warranty would be voided if someone used it for anything other than grass?

I still think the Grass Machete would make a good chopper. 14" long blade, 4.45mm thick and with that KA-BAR handle, it sounds like a winning combination to me!

But, I'll be honest and say my experience is limited (so take what I say with a pinch of salt). :o

Anyway, here's some more KA-BAR goodness!

South/Central American Machetes are mainly used for chopping through leafy vegatation not batoning or chopping hardwoods as is the case in North America. We are suggesting the Grass Machete should be more leafy vegetation and less for hardwoods.

that suggests to be that you shouldn't use it for batoning or chopping barring clearly away [green] leafy vegetation. blackberries, thin green saplings, and general machete jobs... sure, you probably CAN baton logs with it, and probably it will chop a stout tree down if you REALLY had to but all the time, everyday design purpose? nope. too thin. imho. just sayin'.

a LOT of the Beckers are designed with Batoning in mind, and iirc, they even guarantee that. this isn't a Becker Patrol Machete, so i wouldn't assume Becker guarantees.

still, it's all kinds of nifty, and i want a grass machete myself.

eh, no no no, diamonds were not mentioned in the description or function specs.

*GRASS* machete!!! if you so much as TOUCH anything other than *GRASS* it will explode! and email will automatically be sent ot KaBar invalidating your warranty!

believe it!

:D

The Grass machete is the "Key to the State" in Colorado :D
